How to Choose Plus Size Swimwear

Plus size women everywhere cringe when they think of what to wear on the beach. It is very stressful and humiliating to purchase plus size swimwear. Bathing suits for big girls have made leaps and bounds in the past few years by combining function and fashion and they have quickly become an important addition to plus size clothing. The absolute number one thing to remember when purchasing plus size swimwear is choosing a bathing suit that you feel most comfortable in. If you feel great you look great! You can also enjoy yourself at the beach soaking up the sun and playing in the surf instead of feeling so self conscious about what you are wearing. Today plus size women's swimwear can be found in stores and on-line by many retailers that cater to just plus size women, so you know that you will be able to find what you are looking for.

Plus size bathing suits come in a variety of styles and design to fit every woman's shape and taste. You can find one piece or two piece suits that flatter every body type. A very popular type of suit is the "tankini", a two piece suit with bikini bottoms and a flattering tank top (to cover the belly bulge!). The "V" neck tank top is a good choice as it allows for a bit of sexiness without being too revealing. Plus size suits are often made from very strong and form fitting material like Lycra to smooth out everything and hold in the bits that jiggle around too much. Make sure that the plus size bathing suit you buy is made from these types of materials so you feel more sexy and in control.

Fear not dear women, the bottoms of plus size swimwear also come in a variety of styles, from briefs to skirts to shorts, so there will be something there to "suit" you too! Briefs would be best suited for a person who wants to have the most freedom of movement in the water and is not afraid to show off their amazing legs. The skirtini is a popular choice and often very flattering that is best paired with a "V" neck halter top to make a very cute ensemble. The skirt is a great choice for those more self conscious of their thigh area. Of course one can always go for the short bottoms that offer full coverage.

One piece bathing suits are for the very brave plus size girl and I take my hat off to you ladies. There are many options with the one piece and are made with the shape of the bigger women in mind. You can shop them according to your shape as there will be some that hide tummies, that flatter large breasts or a combination of all of it.
